Homecoming Response #2
Word count: 403
After listening to episodes five and six of Homecoming, I
felt partially content with the season finale. While we did get a lot of
answers and there were cliffhangers, it almost felt like they were just leading
up to another episode rather than wrapping up the season. I think I was just expecting
a massive shock in the finale and it only sort of delivered. The shock was that
Heidi ate the medicated food, which was good and kept me extremely interested
and asking questions, but the final scene where she and Walter are talking about
the road trip they want to take let me down a little bit. Maybe it was just
because I wanted to hear the explanation as to why Heidi would eat the food and,
instead of having it explained, we got a conversation where they were just
fantasizing about what they would do on the road trip. It was a good scene, but
it felt a little bit out of place considering it was the very last scene of
season one.
I actually did like how much information was given to us in the
scene before the road trip conversation between Heidi and Walter in episode
seven. That was the part where Colin called Temple who we can now assume was
the top dog throughout the entire program considering how much security Colin
had to get past just to speak with her. In this conversation, Colin informed
Temple of the fact that Heidi seems to be regaining certain memories which
means the medication is wearing off. This would also mean that the soldiers
who were a part of the program may slowly regain the memories stripped
from them as well. This is a pretty interesting story line that I’m hoping they expand
on in season two. Also in this conversation, Colin admits that they have not
been keeping tabs on Walter at all since his overdose. This has me wondering a
few things: what state the overdose left Walter in, what kind of response Heidi
had to this overdose especially considering the fact that she caused it, and
where in the world Walter is now.
